Rare Antique Victorian Era Hotel Astor Porcelain Candle Holder Chamber Stick Circa 1912
This is a rare Victorian Era Hotel Astor Victorian candle holder, also known as a chamber stick, dating back to around 1912. Porcelain candle holder features two handles for easy carry, gold trim, and floral designs including pink and green thistles. It includes the Hotel Astor’s emblem in gilt on one side, indicating it was likely used in the hotel. This piece was made by L. Straus & Sons, New York, specifically for the Hotel Astor. It is in beautiful condition for its age. It has one small hardly noticeable chip on the front bottom rim which is more noticeable by touch than appearance. No other chips to note, cracks, crazing or repairs. It measures approximately 4 1/2” l x 3 1/2” w x 2 1/2” h and is absolutely charming. Please view all photos.
