This 5” antique bottle by Thompson & Taylor is embossed on all sides and dates back to the late 19th or early 20th century. The bottle contained concentrated syrup for making root beer. The term root beer (made from sassafras root) was chosen to appeal to working class individuals. Charles Elmer Hires introduced the first commercial root beer in 1875. Nice collectible bottle in very good condition without chips or cracks. Glass is very clear, minimal scratches, not cloudy. Cork is not original to bottle, but included. Weighs 0.2 lb.
