Antique Butcher's Meat Cleaver W M Beatty & Son 8” Blade
Beautiful antique cutlery. This butcher’s cleaver has an 8” blade, total length of approximately 13 1/2” and weighs 1 lb 8 oz. The metal bears the stamp WM. Beatty & Son, a cow, CHESTER PENNA, and the number 8. This cleaver is in overall really good condition for its age and very secure. Worn wood handle is still very solid and firmly affixed to the thick metal cleaver. The cleaver blade hole is to reduce friction while cutting by creating air pockets between the blade and food, preventing sticking, and allowing for smoother slicing.
